The Murder Board is for any writer drafting a mystery, thriller, suspense, or horror. You don’t have to be close to the end—but if you are, this is the accountability you’ve been looking for to finish your book, workout that one plot point you just can’t get right, or brainstorm a jaw-dropping twist.

SMALL GROUP ACTIVITY EXAMPLE - HOT SEAT COACHING

Hot seat coaching is in-the-moment brainstorming to remove a roadblock.

You will come to the session with a problem (maybe it’s a structure issue, character, logic, etc.) and share with the group. Then I will coach you through it and help you find a way forward. Others can respond if you’d like, but the idea is you get 1x1 attention while everyone learns from the experience, and vice versa.

Typically, you will talk about the sticking point, and I’ll ask you questions and brainstorm ideas with you. We can also discuss strategy if you need support with how to make a plan for completing your project, or talking through imposter syndrome, or anything else that might be blocking you from moving forward.

If there’s something tripping up your progress, bring it to the Murder Board for help.
